After spending most of our lives growing up and living in South East Queensland it is time to try our hand at a move to a much different climate. From warm, humid conditions we find ourselves moving to Tasmania just as winter starts to roll in.
During winter, the maximum day temperatures in northern Tasmania fall short of the night temperatures in Brisbane so breaking into a sweat here will take a bit more effort. Accompanying the brisk conditions are gorgeous views, incredible foods, delicious wines and clean crisp air. Plus there is the bonus of an amazing amount of photographic opportunities.
We pack up the big Jeep with a minimum of our worldly possessions and head off on the next stage of our adventures. It’s not all plain sailing though. Just as we are ready to leave Brisbane is forced into a lockdown due to an outbreak of COVID-19 which places a few constraints on our trip south. We do manage to get away on Easter Monday but not before undertaking a test on Good Friday, which was clear, then undergoing another on entry to Victoria. All is fine though so it’s onto the Spirit of Tasmania for a day crossing to Devonport.

Let the adventure and the next chapter of our lives begin…
